Composer since childhood
I was born in 1965 and grew up in Jakobsberg just outside of Stockholm, Sweden. I have been writing music since I was a young child starting with small compilations for the piano, accordion and song but my real love of composing was kindled by classical music when I played the French horn in the Järfälla Symphony Orchestra and started to write an array of classical numbers. When I was 18 years old I wrote my first piece for the Symphony Orchestra, which was performed in Järfälla later that same year.

What appeals to me above all with composing is the process itself, which is going on inside of me. I hear music in more or less coloured form within myself, with different instruments, sounds and nuances. To then be able to develop what I hear, work out the details and find the right emotional pitch and intensity and bring all this together to form a complete work is an amazing force.

The career
Before attending the Bergslagens Chamber Orchestra summer course in 2007, I wrote "Dagg och regn" (eng. Dew and Rain) for the classical wind quintet, which received a very good response. It was even played in the autumn by the Berglagens Wind Quintet (BBQ) at Fredrikshavns Chamber Music Festival in Denmark, where it also received a very positive response. Since this time, many Danish ensembles have taken this piece into their repertoire.

I was appointed Composer of the year 2008 by Bergslagens Chamber Orchestra. During the final concert in Cassels concert hall on the 19th of July, "Hav" (eng. Ocean) a piece of music written for the symphony orchestra led by the Estonian conductor Toomas Kapten, was performed for the first time. Two other pieces of my work; "Kiev", for string orchestra and "Natt i staden" (eng. The night in town") for brass quintet and percussion were performed for the first time some days before. All of these compositions were received positively and with encouraging reviews.

Since 2008 I have had the following orchestra pieces in concert performances:

  • "Hav" (Ocean) Symphonic orchestra, premier performance in July 2008
  • "Kiev" for string orchestra, premier performance in July 2008
  • "Till klarhet" (Towards clarity) for Soprano Saxophon and Strings, premier performance in May 2009
  • "Vindar, andetag" (Winds, breaths) for flutes, glockenspiel, harp and stringorchestra, premier performance in July 2009
  • "Eld och vatten" (Fire and water) for windorchestra and Solo Clarinet, premier performance in March 2010
  • "I en gåtfull tid" (In a time of mysteries) a tone-poem for Symphonic Orchestra, premier performance in May 2010

I have received a lot of encouragement from both musicians and music lovers for the different contexts in which my music is played and many ask for recordings and sheet music. Due to this interest in my music, I have commissions to do more composing from different areas.
